Recap | Shepard Fairey ‘The Print Show’ at Galerie Magda Danysz

Yesterday ‘The Print Show’ by Shepard Fairey opened at Galerie Magda Danysz in Paris.“Considered as “the most influential street artist of our time” by the Institute of Contemporary Art of Boston, Shepard Fairey (aka Obey) has always considered posters as a valuable form of art. Relentlessly he has pasted posters all over the world, renewing his visual codes through the years, building up a real language. Today his posters are world famous, became his graphic signature, instantly recognizable. In a show where about 200 prints have been gathered over a period of ten years, one ca, see the mazing amount of refrences and inspirations the artist uses. Mixing Soviet propaganda cause with heavy metal imagery, or psychedelic letterings makes it an incredible testimony of the rise of the graphic culture.”
The exhibition runs from May 7th until June 18th 2011.
